It lacks some of the later innovations such as the balance trimmer or the finder scope mount. But Charles had the idea right from the beginning - stiction free, solid, and smooth. And is customer service is top of the line. As you said, he keeps you up to date with progress as you wait to get the mount in your hands, and if you EVER have any problems or questions he's there on the phone to work with you.
